Project Homes focuses on Supported Accommodation and Children’s Homes because it’s necessary! There are many children and young people who aren’t getting the support they need. Together we can change that!
What is Supported Accommodation and Children’s Homes?
Sadly, there are many young people across the UK who need a safe, stable, and nurturing environment, but don’t have one. Supported Accommodation and Children’s Homes are vital parts of the care system for young people who are in need of such an environment.
Supported Accommodation usually provides housing with tailored support for older teenagers (typically 16–17 years old) as they prepare for independent living.
Whereas Children’s Homes offer round-the-clock care in a residential setting for younger children or those with more complex needs.
The importance of Supported Accommodation and Children’s Homes
It’s easy to overlook the importance of a stable, supportive and caring home while growing up. But for vulnerable young people, who cannot live with their families, this isn’t taken for granted.
Both Supported Accommodation and Children’s Homes play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable young people, offering stability, guidance, and opportunities for personal growth.
These homes support those with complex emotional, behavioural, or social needs by offering:
- Consistent guidance
- Structured daily routines
- Access to education and therapeutic services
- A genuine chance at a better life
This is why Project Homes is committed to improving the accessibility of high-quality homes and care in the UK, through Supported Accommodation and Children’s Homes.
Where does Project Homes Gateway fit in?
The role of Project Homes Gateway is to find ethical investors who are looking to make a difference by investing in supported accommodation and/or Children’s Homes. We connect them with qualified care providers. Helping the Providers find high-quality properties that are developed specifically to suit their needs.
We work with both parties to ensure vulnerable young people are able to have a home where they’re supported and guided into adulthood, giving them the best chance at a healthy and successful life.
For us, it’s personal
Many of our Staff and Directors were raised in or around the care system. So, we have first-hand experience of the effect good quality Children’s Homes and Supported Accommodation. And sadly, the impact poor quality homes have.
This is why we’ve made it our mission to help provide the best possible homes to as many children and young people in the UK as possible.
Why are we raising the standards of Supported accommodation and children’s homes in the UK?
Building better standards in these services is essential to ensure consistent, high-quality care, protect children from harm, and give them the skills, resilience, and confidence they need to thrive into adulthood. Without strong standards, there is a risk of inconsistency, neglect, or inadequate support at a time when these young people most need safety and encouragement.
For care providers, OFSTED-compliant homes ensure high standards of safeguarding, regulation, and positive outcomes.
For ethical investors, this sector offers the opportunity to do good and make a profit — by supporting vulnerable people through housing that truly matters.
